The Carrier Bag – Theory of Fiction

The identity of the writer has a great impact on the story he/she writes. Every writer has a different way of observing, analyzing, and writing a story. Even the gender of the writer reflects a different angel of writing about a particular issue. The female writer shows more concern for women in her stories and tries to make a good place for the women in the society through her stories. Contrary to this, male writer are more likely to show greater importance, power, and intelligence of men. However, it is evident that the identity of both the type of writers determines the story.
In the past, women had less power than men and that difference still exists even in this era. This difference is reflected in all the fields of life. In science, this difference has also been reflected in some occasions. The first device ever made or used by a human being was a weapon and it was invented by a man. At that time, men took preference over men of inventing a first weapon. Then, the first cultural device was invented by women, which is a container that was used to gather things (Le Guin, 1986).
Before this first woman’s invention, women were not considered as a human. These inventions by both the genders show that men are the hunters and women are the gatherers. This indicates that if women had more power, they would have participated more in the science and they would have invented things that promote peace. We would have a more peaceful today and we could have saved our planet from environmental hazards that we are facing today. We might have an entirely a different scenario if women were able to fully participate. But unfortunately, men exercised greater power and kept on inventing things like weapon that promoted violence.
